Graduate life can sometimes be fast and overwhelming, so it is often useful to take a step back and breathe. In an attempt to provide students with a platform to relax and temporarily disconnect from their studies, we are proud to announce a FREE Beginners Meditation class, in collaboration with MISA, McGill Iranian Student Association, on February 15th, 2020 at Bistro Rhum Cafe from 3-5pm. This event is absolutely FREE of charge and open to everyone! Meditation has proven effective in improving self-awareness, reducing stress and, most importantly, regaining focus on the positive aspects of life while connecting with others.
Undoubtedly, the start of the decade has been quite tough on all of us. Raging Australian fires, widespread epidemics, and lives lost during the heartbreaking plane crash have all had an influence on our morale and mental balance.
EMGSS understands and acknowledges that these tragic events might have a particular effect on students, especially our international peers, who also have to worry about their families abroad. With this in mind, the Experimental Medicine Graduate Student Society and the McGill Iranian Student Association would like to reiterate and further affirm its openness to supporting students and trainees during such difficult times. Our council aims to serve as a safety hub where students can feel comfortable, welcome and supported.
We sincerely wish you the best of outcomes for the rest of the year and hope that your new pages fill up with nothing but joy and success.
